Head of Operations
Nerdwallet
📋 Descripción del Trabajo
NerdWallet Wealth Partners is looking to hire a Head of Operations to establish core operational processes for its fast-growing wealth management business. As the first operational leader for this young business, this person will build and scale the systems, processes, and infrastructure that power both our client experience and our revenue engine — from the moment a prospect enters our funnel to the day-to-day servicing of long-term wealth management clients. The Head of Operations will own the full operational lifecycle of the business, bridging the disciplines of revenue operations, marketing and sales performance, and the client-servicing workflows unique to an advisory practice.
NerdWallet Wealth Partners sits in a unique position in the market – primarily serving young, mass affluent clients acquired from a highly-efficient digital funnel. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage, hyper-growth wealth management firm and build a world-class operation from the ground up.
The Head of Operations is a senior member of the NerdWallet Wealth Partners leadership team. This role is equal parts strategist and operator — one day designing a cohort-based performance framework with the marketing team, the next streamlining the account onboarding workflow with our financial advisors. The Head of Operations directly manages the operations function and reports to the CEO of NerdWallet Wealth Partners. This individual is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, ownership, and bias toward action. As the business scales, this leader will build out and mentor a lean, high-performing operations team.
WHERE YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT:
– Revenue Operations: Own the end-to-end revenue operations function, including the design and maintenance of marketing and sales funnels, lead routing logic, CRM architecture, and pipeline reporting that enables data-driven decisions across growth and advisory teams.
– Cohort & Performance Analytics: Build and maintain cohort reporting frameworks that track client acquisition, activation, retention, and lifetime value — translating raw data into clear strategic recommendations for leadership.
– Marketing and Sales Automation: Lead the strategy and execution of marketing and sales automation platforms (e.g.,Salesforce, Customer.io http://Customer.io), ensuring campaigns are measurable, scalable, and aligned to conversion goals.
– Client Onboarding: Design and continuously improve the end-to-end client onboarding experience for new wealth management clients, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and high-touch journey from signed agreement to fully funded account.
– Advisor Workflow Optimization: Partner with the advisory team to document, standardize, and optimize advisor workflows — including account reviews, rebalancing processes, client communications cadences, and more.
– Operational Infrastructure: Own the operational systems and vendor relationships that keep us running, including custodian integrations (e.g. Schwab), portfolio management tools (e.g., Orion, Tamarac), and compliance-adjacent workflows in partnership with the CCO.
– Business Intelligence & Reporting: Develop and maintain operational dashboards and KPIs that give leadership real-time visibility into business health across client growth, retention, advisor capacity, and operational throughput.
– Process Documentation & Scalability: Build the playbooks, SOPs, and internal knowledge infrastructure needed to scale the business without sacrificing consistency or compliance.
– Cross-functional Leadership: Serve as the connective tissue between marketing, sales, advisory, product, compliance, and finance — ensuring operational decisions are made with full context and clear accountability.
– Vendor & Technology Management: Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with third-party technology and service vendors critical to RIA operations.
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
– 12+ years of progressive experience in operations or strategy roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
– Proficiency in data analysis and cohort reporting; ability to build models and dashboards independently (SQL, Excel/Sheets, Looker, Tableau, or equivalent)
– Hands-on experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
